Day 9: Leaving Edmonton heading for Dawson Creek

We awoke to a beautiful morning, sunny and 56 degrees. We started the morning with a side trip to the West Edmonton Mall which is advertized as the largest mall in the world. If you like malls, this mall has a little something for everyone; 800 stores, 100 restaurants, ice skating rink, amusement park and more. We left the mall and headed toward Dawson Creek on Highway 43. This is an excellent highway that is 4 & 6 lanes except for about a 15 mile stretch which is under construction. The speed limit is mostly 70mph. The countryside has basically changed from rolling farmlands to more rolling hills covered with timber. At 9PM (still bright daylight) we reached Grand Prairie and decided to stay in the Walmart parking lot with 14 other RVers. I love those prices for a camp site at Walmart, It seems others do too. We meet one gentleman who told us he had been there for 30 days. We paid $1.12/liter for diesel today. We saw gas from $1.12 to $1.32/liter.

We stayed at Glowing Embers Campground which was a very nice campground with everything you could want.

These are some of the farm raised buffalo along the highway.

Gypsy volunteered to take a turn at wildlife watch.
